A tough weekend for the Sheffield Scimitars, with their six game winning streak broken after a long and difficult road journey down to Bracknell on the Saturday, before taking on top of the League Manchester Phoenix for the 5th time this season on Sunday. On Saturday, Bracknell broke up the Scimitars' rhythm and game plan which allowed a home win for the Bees by a 6-3 scoreline. Prior to the weekend the Scimitars were fancying their chances at finally taking 2 points off Manchester Phoenix, but a six minute spell of 4 goals without reply early in the second period put paid to that hope, going down 2-5 at ice Sheffield on Sunday evening. Despite the biggest ever attendance for a Sheffield Scimitars game at Ice Sheffield with over 850 spectators in the building, the Scimitars just cannot seem to get the upper hand over their near neighbours Manchester Phoenix. Jon Rowbotham will be working the team hard in training ready for Swindon away on Saturday and back home on Sunday (22nd November) against Basingstoke Bison, 22nd November, 5.30pm face-off.
