The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.
We are working on an archive of matches, stats and players from BIH in the past few years.

Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish has secured the arrival of the first new face to the club ahead of 2011/12 with the news that 20 year old utility man Richard Bentham has joined from the Wightlink Raiders. Bentham, who has iced in both the ENIHL North and South, as well as the EPL, becomes the fourth player to commit to the club before the new season begins in September joining new teammates Andy Smith, Corey Watkins and Jack Tarczycki on the roster.
After a short stint with the Sheffield Steeldogs in the league above, Richard Bentham finished the 2010/11 campaign with the Wightlink Raiders and iced 22 times in the division as the Isle of Wight based side went on to claim the ENIHL Southern Championship. Previously the skater rose through the ranks in the north as he progressed through the junior setups at both Blackburn and Nottingham and, across his total time in the northern league, he tallied 102 points over 73 games and 425 minutes of penalties. This good form saw him feature 10 times for Great Britain’s under 18s at the World Junior Championships in 2007/08 before, several years later, attracting the attention of the Steeldogs in the EPL. However, after just four games with the Sheffield outfit, a combination of financial difficulties at his new club and a lengthy commute for the player, saw Bentham move south and sign for the Wightlink Raiders for the second half of 2010/11. Here he managed 8 goals and 16 assists for 24 points in 22 fixtures, alongside 50 minutes of penalties, but now he will be looking for more as he switches the Ryde Arena for the Silver Blades Ice Rink Gillingham come the puck drop in September.
Speaking on the first new face to join the club Head Coach Kevin Parrish suggested he saw a bright future for Richard Bentham and that he could play a key role for his side in 2011/12. Parrish said, “I most recently watched Richard at the Southern Playoff Final in Chelmsford and, in my opinion, he has all the tools to be a top player in this league. He joins us at the Dynamos as a power forward but he can also cover at the back if necessary making him a potentially excellent asset for the new campaign”. Parrish then revealed what he expected from his latest acquisition when he said, “Richard not only has the ability to bring goals to the team but his strength and size make him a presence on the ice and he is not the sort to be intimidated. Last season he picked up a Southern Championship with the Wightlink Raiders and he arrives in Gillingham hungry for more so I look forward to him bringing that desire to the ice when we look to reclaim the silverware next term”.
New signing Richard Bentham will wear shirt number 77 when the 2011/12 season gets underway latter in the year.
