Robbie Brown

The Invicta Dynamos are delighted to announce the capture of 20 year old forward Robbie Brown from the Wightlink Raiders with the Belfast born skater becoming the sixth player to make the roster ahead of the 2011/12 campaign. Head Coach Kevin Parrish placed Brown high on his summer wish list after the youngster was a major force in the ENIHL South for the league winning Raiders last term and now the Irish star will line-up at the Silver Blades Ice Rink, Gillingham when the new season gets underway in September.

In 2010/11 Robbie Brown was a key figure on the Isle of Wight and his 36 goals and 31 assists provided him with a 67 point return from his 40 league outings. He finished the campaign as the Raiders’ second highest scorer and placed ninth in the list of the division’s overall top ten. 2010/11 also saw Brown step up and represent the Basingstoke Bison in the EPL, as part of a two way contract, and here he never looked out of place as he tallied a point a game in his three appearances. Previously the forward has also featured in the Elite League as a promising junior for the Belfast Giants following several years icing in the north for the Dundee Stars and the Solway Sharks. However now the gifted 20 year old brings his talent to Medway having penned a contract for the 2011/12 campaign setting him up to wear the number 32 shirt at the Invicta Dynamos in Gillingham.

Speaking on the capture of forward Robbie Brown Head Coach Kevin Parrish revealed he was delighted to have got his man and that he saw him being a key figure when the new season gets underway. Parrish said, “Watching Robbie last year I was very impressed by not only his undoubted playing ability but his overall attitude to the game and so I’m very pleased he has agreed to sign up with us here at the Dynamos. He gives his all and posts more than his fair share of numbers and I’m sure he will prove to be a major part of our attack when the hockey season is up and running again”. Parrish then added what he expected from his latest acquisition when he said, “Robbie is still very young and has masses of promise and I look forward to see him delivering here in Gillingham. He has the hunger to win, pace in abundance and the cool head needed to put the puck over the line and this was evident throughout 2010/11 as he played a major role in taking the ENIHL Southern Championship to the Isle of Wight. Hopefully now he can help us bring it back home”.

Finally new signing Robbie Brown affirmed his commitment to his new side when he said, “I’m very pleased to have signed for the Dynamos for 2011/12 and can’t wait to get started. Despite speculation, for me this isn’t a switch motivated by money but more a chance to have a different experience at a new club. I’ve long heard about the professional setup at the Dynamos, of how the players are treated and of the fantastic fan base here and I’m delighted to now be a part of it. I’m looking forward to getting going and can hopefully help bring silverware back to Medway by the end of 2011/12”.

Robbie Brown is the second new face at the club joining fellow former Raiders skater Richard Bentham alongside Dynamos’ stalwarts Andy Smith, Jack Tarczycki, Corey Watkins and Anthony Lennon.
