Russell completes blueline

The Slough Jets are delighted to announce the re-signing of Great Britain under 18's defenceman Billy Phillips for the 2010/11 season. The-18-year old returns to The Hangar having joined the Jets last summer from English Premier League rivals the Romford Raiders.

With Phillips putting pen to paper this completes the Jets defensive line-up with head coach Pete Russell delighted with how his team is looking: "I am very pleased to welcome back Billy Phillips for his second season at The Hangar" said the Scot. "Billy is a top young GB international who plays with an edge, he has good size, strength and skills.

"Last season Billy came on throughout the season in a new environment and worked hard on improving his game. He was in new surroundings and took a little while to settle after his move from Romford and then in my opinion came into his own over the last few months.

"His performance at the playoff final in Coventry against Guildford proved how much he had developed, he performed so well and on a big stage for a young lad. With that experience of playing in front of the big crowd, in a pressure situation can only make him stronger. I am looking for Billy to start the season off where he ended it and I know he can achieve this.

"He is a great person and with his determination to achieve goals and through continued hard work his game will develop further. We are going with five defencemen and we are very lucky to have five guys who are very capable of playing in all situations."

Competitive season ticket packages are still available priced at £200.00 for adults, £140 for concessions, £100 for under 16's, £480 for a family of four (2 adults & 2 under 16's) or £430 for a family of three (2 adults & 1 under 16). Season tickets can be purchased by calling the Jets office on 01753 821 171 or e-mail General Manager Sylvia Tuleweit on stuleweit@sloughjets.co.uk.
