Ryan Johnson completes Steeldogs roster
Ryan Johnson yesterday agreed terms with the Sheffield Steeldogs and should be icing against his former team the Manchester Phoenix on Friday evening after a productive exchange of phone calls brought the 25 year old D-man back to his home town club.
In recent seasons Jonno has spent time in both the EPL and EIHL leagues and brings his considerable skills and an experience level way above his 25 years to the Steeldogs.
As a coach it is always nice to get guys back on the roster who you know well and who you trust will put it on the line every time they step on the ice and Jonno fits that role perfectly as he has a ton of passion and is the type of team player any coach would love to have.
As a D-man Jonno keeps things simple, pushes guys wide, hits hard, turns the puck over and distributes quickly before joining the rush effectively which is exactly what we are looking for, and that along with his mental toughness and overall physical presence make him a player other teams will not like playing against one bit. All these skills added to a great passing game and a cannon of a shot make this signing a positive addition to the roster and we look forward to seeing Ryan help the team to new levels every weekend.
