The Swindon Wildcats tonight took a point from the reigning EPL Play off champions in a dramatic game at the Hanger which ended 6-5 to the Slough Jets after the Wildcats took them to penalties.

It took 14 minutes before the first goal was seen and to the delight of the home fans, it would be Slough who would score first. After a pass from Joe Greener, the Canadian Doug Sheppard finished the play to leave his side with the first advantage of the night. 5 minutes on and Swindon would then spoil the plans however when ex-Jets player Ryan Watt put one past netminder Rockman, after a pass from import Toivo Suursoo.

A minute into the second and fellow import Josef Liska would then give his side the lead for the first time in the game, when the Slovakian saw his shot find the back of the net. At 35:27 Liska then doubled the Wildcats' lead when he finished a pass from fellow import Suursoo.

Two minutes on Liska then collected his hat trick at 37:38 on a shorthanded opportunity. Leading from a Lee Richardson, Liska then scored with some soft hands to collect his third and a fourth for Wildcat team.

The third period saw Slough turn the game upside down, by taking the game to the Wildcats, scoring quickly through Darius Pliskauskas, to keep Swindon's lead to 2 points.  The Cats however fought back for their fifth only two minutes later with Liska grabbing his fourth, but their scoring was to come to an end as the Jets threw an onslaught at the visitors and pulled the scores level, and onto overtime.

A tense overtime saw no goals from either side, with the game moving to penalties with the Jets scoring 2 goals to the Wildcats one to take the victory on the night, although the Wildcats will be content to take a point from this away game even though they forfeited a 3 goal lead.

Tomorrow night Swindon head to Peterborough where only a few weeks ago they succumbed to an 8-0 defeat at the hands of the Phantoms, but will be buoyed by a strong two weeks and a good performance away at Slough.
