Slough Jets and Absolutely Ice fly back into action
The team at Absolutely Ice are pleased to announce that the Ice Arena on Montem Lane will be re-opening its doors to the public on Thursday 26th January at 7am, meaning that the Slough Jets will resume their English Premier Ice Hockey League schedule with their next home game being this Saturday at 6.30pm against the Peterborough Phantoms.
Steve English, Slough Jets Director of Operations, commented; “I’d like to thank Anil Kumar and the team at Absolutely Ice for their tireless work in getting the rink ready as quickly as possible. I know the team have put in long hours and it’s for this reason that we’ve only had to reschedule one home fixture. The team are looking forward to skating out on home ice for this weekend’s game against the Phantoms”.
Absolutely Ice will be running a slightly amended timetable for Thursday 26th January which is available to view on their website at www.absolutely-ice.co.uk before returning to their full operational programme on Friday ahead of a busy weekend including the Jets game against the Phantoms on Saturday at 6.30pm.
The Arena was closed 5 days ago following a major leak in one of the pipes making up the refrigeration system after exhaustive attempts to repair the problem without having to lose the ice. The repair was carried out swiftly and the previous ice pad melted and removed and a fresh sheet of ice laid and painted with the lines and logos.
The Jets game scheduled for last Saturday against Bracknell Bees has been rescheduled with the co-operation of the Bees and the EIHA to be played on Wednesday 22nd February 2012 at 7.30pm.
