Spearing heads back to Slough

The Slough Jets are today delighted to announce the signing of Scott Spearing from the Basingstoke Bison. The 24-year-old returns to The Hanger after a 2009/10 season where he experienced an indifferent time due to injury.

Jets head coach Pete Russell moved to secure the signature of the Swindon born forward to compliment the hard working third line that he has in mind. Speaking today of his capture of Spearing, Russell was delighted to be able to confirm another British player.

“I’m delighted to have Scott onboard” confirmed the Scot. “Everytime I coached against him in the past he was a player that caused my teams a number of problems. He is a big strong player and has an edge to his game, he is a player who teams hate to play against as he gets under their skin.

“Scott is a good skater and has good hands for a big guy, I believe he can chip in with some points this year on our third line. Scott also has the game to step up a line and only adds to our depth within the team. He had a bad knee injury last season and has worked hard off the ice to strengthen the muscle and has also been skating the last four weeks and is doing very well. He is looking forward to proving his doubters wrong.”

Competitive season ticket packages are still available priced at £200.00 for adults, £140 for concessions, £100 for under 16's, £480 for a family of four (2 adults & 2 under 16's) or £430 for a family of three (2 adults & 1 under 16). Season tickets can be purchased by calling the Jets office on 01753 821 171 or e-mail General Manager Sylvia Tuleweit on stuleweit@sloughjets.co.uk.
