Player-coach Sylvain Cloutier insists Excel Hull Stingrays must stay disciplined when Elite League leaders Coventry Blaze visit Hull Arena tomorrow night.

Stingrays have put together a three-game winning streak but face a Coventry side who have a 100% record from their five meetings this season and who won 5-0 on their last visit on November 15.

Cloutier said: “I have said to the boys to enjoy this little winning streak but we want to keep that going now. We play a big team on Wednesday, we want to keep this streak going and go into the new year on a positive.

“You have to stay out of the penalty box and be disciplined against them. Their powerplay is going at 29% and it’s the best in the league. If you take penalties against them they will punish you. They have so many weapons. They have a lot of firepower but if we stay disciplined and play five-on-five we will be fine.”
