Steelers sign forward Warren Tait for the season
Steelers have confirmed the signing of forward Warren Tait until the end of the season.
Tait guested for the Steelers at the weekend and a deal was struck with the player yesterday following him obtaining his release from previous club Peterborough.
Head coach Ryan Finnerty said "we are delighted that Warren is able to move up full time, he did a great job for us last weekend and we expect more of the same from him for the rest of the season.
"Warren will give us a little more depth initially and then when our injured guys come back he will give us some options and ensure that there is a competition for places.
"What also helps with Warren is that there is no settling in period. He knows the guys and fitted right back in here".
Tait played for the Seelers between 2005 and 2008 making 159 appearances for the club "In a strange way it felt like i had never been away" he said "the first weekend was tough, those were my two first games of the year and whilst i have worked hard all summer there is nothing like playing in a game. Playing with Jason and my brother was a great experience and one i hope to do more often now i am back full time".
Finnerty continued "We would like to thank Peterborough for their co-operation in this transaction. I can understand their disappointment in loosing Warren just before the start of the season".
Warren Tait will be in action this Saturday for the Sheffield Steelers as they take on Coventry Blaze, Motorpoint Arena, Face Off 7.00pm (Doors open at 6.00pm) Arena Box Office 0114 256 5656.
