Steelers title challenge charges on
A goal in each period from the Steelers saw them shut out Hull for the second time this season. Back-up goaltender Geoff Wollhouse also recorded his second shutout of the season. As the home side made it nine straight wins.
An early strike from Steelers Matt Stephenson at 4.29 was the only goal between the teams in the opening session. At 11.14 Chad Huttel of the home side and Andrew McKinney of the visitors were both binned on 5-minute majors for fighting.
Inside the final minute of the second period, the Steelers took a two-goal lead as Jeff Legue found the net at 19.13.
We had to wait over twenty minutes before Sheffield got their third with the Hull goaltender off for the extra skater, Luke Fulghum found the empty net at 59.39.
