The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.
We are working on an archive of matches, stats and players from BIH in the past few years.
Player-coach Sylvain Cloutier is looking forward to his first trip to Kirkcaldy when Excel Hull Stingrays take on Fife Flyers in the Rapid Solicitors Elite League tomorrow night.
Flyers have won just one of their first 13 games in their debut season and are winless in nine encounters in the league.
Stingrays head north of the border – for the second successive weekend following a 2-1 win at Dundee Stars last Sunday - buoyed by a 9-4 home victory over Braehead Clan on Wednesday night.
Dmitry Rodin’s penalty shot winner earned Stingrays a 3-2 triumph over Fife when the teams met at Hull Arena on September 25 but Cloutier wants his side to build on their two-game winning run.
He said: “We are going there to get two points. We have to go up there and play hard. We didn’t play well at all when we played them at home but we found a way to win. If we play like we did against Braehead up there we will be fine.
“I have never played up there before but I have heard the fans are great, the atmosphere is great and I am looking forward to going up there.
“It is going to be difficult but we will have to play strong defensively, make sure we are committed to the system and do our jobs. We have to keep plugging away and not get frustrated.”
Stingrays then welcome Belfast Giants to Hull Arena looking for revenge after suffering a 4-3 home defeat to the leaders earlier this month having led 2-0 and 3-1.
Cloutier added: “We should have beaten Belfast last time, I felt we were the better team that night. It was too bad we didn’t.
“You look at their line-up. They lose one top guy in [Derek] LeBlanc and bring another guy in like [Aaron] Clarke who is a really good hockey player.
“There is no messing around there, they are going for the league title and if you look at their line-up they are built for it. It is going to be a big test for us and we are going to have to be ready.
“The guys get excited when we play the big teams, they want to prove something. You never know. We have been close with them twice now and we believe we can beat them.”
Stingrays take on Belfast Giants at Hull Arena in the Rapid Solicitors Elite League on Sunday October 30 (6pm face-off). Tickets can be purchased by ringing the Hull Arena Box Office on 01482 325252.
