Swindon Wildcats 1 - 3 Milton Keynes Lightning

Last Saturday the Swindon Wildcats lost out 3-1 against the MK Lightning, stopping the 'Cats back to back home winning streak. Swindon were without top scorer Josef Liska for the game after sustaining an injury at Manchester the previous Sunday.
This left coach Ryan Aldridge to take his place and offer what he could to his side's performance. It was the away side who drew first blood with Lightning's Smulter opening the scoring two minutes from time in the first. After picking up the puck on the counter attack, the import took his chance well and was able to score past Swindon's James Hadfield. The Lightning forward then doubled his side's lead when a rebounded shot was tapped in at 34:00. Moments later and with a very aggressive style, the Wildcats attacked their opposition to create a chance on net. Captain Lee Richardson took the puck into the zone before slotting the puck top shelf and into the goal for Swindon's first of the evening.
With one goal in it at the start of the final period it was all to play for, however after MK's Jamieson scored through a fortunate deflected goal, it seemed just one step too many for the 'Cats to claw back from. Although Swindon had their chances and came very close, they were unable to find the net again and the final buzzer confirmed a 3-1 loss to last year's EPL champions. Swindon now move on to Peterborough tomorrow in the hope to salvage two points from the weekend's games to help with continuation of their season's campaign.
