Tejchma and Rockman cap January award
British Ice Hockey are delighted to announce the Gongshow Gear BIH players of the month for January 2010.
Elite Ice Hockey League: Jason Tejchma of the Newcastle Vipers
In what has been a difficult season on and off the ice for the Mobilx Newcastle Vipers, American forward Jason Tejchma has been one of Rob Wilson’s shining lights. The 5’ 10” centre who signed from the ECHL’s Mississippi Sea Wolves during the summer is currently one of top powerplay goalscorers in the Elite League with ten goals in forty two games.
In what has was mixed January for the Vipers, Techjma has came up with some big goals for the North East based team including two in the now famous ‘Viper 11’ win in Belfast. Despite his small stature Tejchma is a player that Vipers coach Rob Wilson rates very highly and his nineteen goals and eighteen assists in Elite League action are testament to that.
English Premier League: Gregg Rockman of the Slough Jets
27-year-old Slough Jets netminder Gregg Rockman has been a mainstay between the pipes for Peter Russell’s outfit this season. The experienced British netminder who has also iced for the Peterborough Phantoms and Bracknell Bees in the EPL followed Russell along the M4 from Amen Corner during the summer.
With the Jets currently flying high in the English Premier League table, Rockman backstopped the Berkshire outfit to nine wins out of a possible ten. Consistently one of the top netminders in the EPL in terms of save percentage and goals against average, Rockman will be integral in Slough’s continued pursuit of the EPL title and upcoming playoffs.
