The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.
We are working on an archive of matches, stats and players from BIH in the past few years.
After a week of feverish negotiations Dundee CCS Stars' coach Dan Ceman has secured one of the most colourful characters in ice hockey for his roster for next year.
Ex Belfast Giant and Buffalo Sabres forward Sean McMorrow put pen to paper last night in Toronto to sign up for Ceman’s new look CCS Stars outfit next season. Tough guy McMorrow is also renowned for his work in the various communities he has played in, proving to be an ambassador for his team and ice hockey in general and has won 2 “Man of the Year” awards from previous leagues for his contributions to the communities.
Dan Ceman said "I'm extremely excited to bring such a special player as Sean to Dundee. He has the ability to make every player on our team better with his presence alone. Saying this, I also believe that when Sean gets the opportunity to play consistently he will become a feared forechecker who can make things happen with his strength and intense desire to win. The icing on the cake when I was researching Sean was his impressive reputation as a tireless contributor to the community and I know he can't wait to become a part of the fabric of Dundee. The impact that Sean will make at the arena and in the city will be like nothing Dundee has ever seen and my excitement to start the season is even greater now that we have the ultimate weapon in Sean."
Sean McMorrow said "After weeks of speculation I would like to announce that THE SHERIFF SEAN MCMORROW has chosen to serve and protect THE DUNDEE STARS. I am very proud to come to Dundee. The owners and management have showed a huge commitment to me and have structured a deal that I can't refuse. My goal is to make the DUNDEE STARS a well respected team with tons of success and entertainment THIS year. What I bring to the table is the title of THE BIGGEST CHARACTER AND BEST ENTERTAINER IN THE EIHL, HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP of the EIHL, and MOST PERSONABLE PLAYER TO THE FANS BRITISH HOCKEY HAS EVER SEEN. I plan on enlarging the fan base I have built by being leading vote getter for the ALL STAR GAME in the EIHL last year and will make a STARS GAME the best entertainment in town. The fans pay money to come to ice hockey games so they deserve a hard working winning team as well as the entertainment package to go home happy. I will defend my HEAVYWEIGHT BELT all year like a true champ should and now that every Elite League team has a tough guy they will all get their shot at the title. The question is how many times will they attempt. For the great citizens of Dundee tell your brother, tell your mother, tell your father your uncle anyone you know that the SHERIFF IS IN TOWN and THE STARS ARE THE BEST SHOW IN TOWN! I would like to thank JUKKA SUUTARI for helping and assisting in making this chance of a lifetime a reality. I am very excited to be THE SHERIFF OF THE DUNDEE STARS"
The 6ft 4 powerhouse is due into Dundee at the end of August, and is clearly destined to make an impact as soon as he hits the City.
