A number of Bracknell Bees players are putting away their razors this month, all in the aid of charity!
Club Captain Terry Miles and colleagues Ryan Watt, Shane Moore, Adam Jones, Carl Ambler, Jaroslav Cesky and others are all taking part in “Movember”, the annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer.
Terry says: “As a few people know, ice hockey players are fans of facial hair for luck in the Play Offs, so we don’t mind looking a bit silly for a while. Doing the “Movember Moustache” for prostate cancer seemed a good idea. There’s a few of us taking part and donations can be made through the Movember website and searching our names. All donations will really be appreciated and we’ll let you know how we get on.”
All donations will be put to good use by the Prostrate Cancer Charity. To date the Movember campaigns have raised over £30 million globally for the fight against prostate cancer in men and, more importantly, as a direct result, male awareness of such health issues has improved around the world.
