This team will not go away says Wilson
Rob Wilson was delighted with the Vipers' weekend work; two wins against Cardiff and Sheffield and a promotion drive resulting in almost 7,000 fans attending across the weekend.
"We've had a great weekend, on and off the ice," said Wilson after the game.
"Tonight I thought we were in control, Sheffield couldn't really penetrate and were limited to shots from the outside.
"Robbie [goalie Michel Robinson] was probably our player of the weekend, but Matus Petricko and Jason Tejchma worked themselves into the ground, but really no-one let themselves down.
"Sheffield had some possession but they really didn't get into the scoring areas. We took our chances, particularly on the powerplay, and all in all it was a satisfying win.
"We're two points out of first place, with games in hand on Nottingham and Belfast. This team isn't going to go away, we've got too much work ethic and will-to-win.
"The players want to do well, and that's key. We're hungry and want to keep on showing the establishment that we mean business.
"We will have off nights, but this team responds better than possibly any other team I've coached.
"I'm really proud of the guys."
