The Slough Jets are delighted to announce the re-signing of British forward Carl Thompson for the 2010/11 season. The Slough native returns to the Jets for a sixth consecutive season and will team-up with recently signed Scott Spearing and Michael Bowman for a solid looking third line.

20-year-old Thompson is a product of the Slough junior development programme and someone Jets head coach Pete Russell is delighted to see back.

“It’s great to have Carl back for the new season” said Russell. “Carl is a smart hardworking player with good skills and he really can play in any situation. He is good at both end of the ice and reads the game well. After a tough 2009/10 season and a lot of contemplation, Carl played a big part in our playoff winning team and finished the season on a high and out in some really strong performances. This really helped his confidence, he seemed to enjoy his hockey again and pulling on the Jets jerseys again which was great to see.

“Carl is the final piece of the third line forward unit and along with Bowman and Spearing I believe it’s looking very solid. The third line has great experience and will do a good job for us in any situation, chipping in with points as well as being solid defensively which is important to be successful. I feel very positive about this signing and believe Carl will have a very strong 2010/11.”
