Thompson: We need to stick together
Shaun Thompson is using “the bad situation” he experienced at Basingstoke Bison last season to help him get through a difficult time with Excel Hull Stingrays.
The British forward was part of a Bison side which finished last term with an Elite League-record 27 successive losses after the club’s financial woes left them short-benched. But with Stingrays having lost 13 of their last 14, Thompson is determined to stay positive.
Thompson said: “You have to but something needs to change. You can’t fault our work ethic and we are competing with teams for parts of the game but they are getting the bounces and we aren’t.
“It is a tough time for everyone right now. We are lacking creativity and are struggling to score goals but we have to keep working hard. I was in a situation like this last season but we all need to stick together to get through this.”
