The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.
We are working on an archive of matches, stats and players from BIH in the past few years.

British defenceman Richie Thornton will be back in the Mobilx Newcastle Vipers line-up this weekend as the Excel Hull Stingrays visit Whitley Bay on Saturday (6.30pm face-off) followed by a four hundred mile round trip to face the Coventry Blaze on Sunday. Vipers head coach Rob Wilson yesterday moved to bring Thornton back from his loan spell with the Whitley Warriors following the sudden departure of American defenceman Tyler Kindle.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Wilson said it was imperative to get an extra defenceman in with only Jerramie Domish, Mark Gouett and Ryan Mahrle available to patrol the blueline: “Obviously we had expected Tyler to be still with us this weekend” confirmed Wilson. “The opportunity for him to go to the CHL was there and he decided to take it, there’s nothing we could do about that. The main priority for us was to get someone in for this weekend to replace Kindle. We looked at the logistics of bringing in Scott Romfo from Cardiff as well as a number of other options but various reason’s it wasn’t going to work.”
“Obviously Richie started the season with us, but following the birth of his son and work commitments we agreed to let him join the Warriors on loan. Thankfully we’ve been able to call on him for this weekend, Richie isn’t flashy but he’ll come in and do a solid job for us. He’s a player that will do everything I ask of him and right now that’s all I expect. Our backs are up against the wall a little, we’re obviously down in numbers, down in confidence and carry a number of injuries but historically this is where the Newcastle Vipers have excelled!”
Tickets for tomorrow’s game against Hull are available on the door priced at £12.00 for adults, £8.00 for concessions, £6.00 for under 16’s and £30.00 for a family (2 adults & 2 children).
