The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.

Telford Tigers are set to make history as the first ice hockey club owned by a supporters’ trust to compete in the English Premier League, as officials have confirmed the team’s application for season 2010-11 has been accepted.
Chairman Alan Gould met league representatives at the EPL finals weekend in Coventry to receive their approval for Tigers – owned and managed by the Tiger Tracks trust – to return to competition this September.
Alan Gould said: “The response from the league to our plans was very positive and supportive. Many of the other teams said how glad they were to see Tigers resurrected and they voted unanimously to have us back in the league.
“I have to thank Mike Dixon and Andy Phillips for being the driving force behind setting up the supporters’ trust, and the rest of the committee who have been working to secure sponsorship and put together our business plans.”
Ken Taggart, chairman of the English Ice Hockey Association, added: “The supporters’ trust is unique for hockey and very interesting for us to see how it works. It may provide a model for other clubs, especially the way it can bring in professional guidance to help with business areas such as accountancy, tax and National Insurance. This could be a positive influence.”
The teams will meet again later in the summer for the league AGM, but in the meantime Telford will keep Mr Taggart appraised of progress with their business plans and details of ice rink agreements.
Alan Gould added: “Now for the real work. We have a team to put together ready for September. We’ve already had lots of contact from players keen to join us, and we hope to be able to announce the appointment of the Tigers coach very soon.
“But we do still need support from local people and the business community. Every person who signs up as a member of the trust for £10, and every company that agrees to advertise in the programme or have their name on our kit will help us to put a competitive team on the ice in September.”
