Dean Tonks

The Peterborough Phantoms Ice Hockey Club have today announced that young Forward Dean Tonks will not be joining the club for the upcoming season.

Tonks was one of Coach Chris Allen’s first signing when he took over at the Bretton based club, but earlier this week he asked to be released after being offered an opportunity to move out to New Zealand.

Allen commented “As a coach, player and fan of the game I was really looking forward to seeing what Tonks could do on the ice in a Phantoms jersey after putting up some big numbers with the Solihull Barons in 2010/11.”

“Dean has decided to walk away from the game and take up a once in a lifetime opportunity in New Zealand to pursue other interests. I wish him all the very best and hope to see him on the ice in the UK again in the future.”

Everyone associated with the Peterborough Phantoms wish Dean all the best for the future and his new adventures in New Zealand.
