Head Coach Gary Clarke will be disappointed not to have picked up maximum points this past weekend as the Chieftains beat the Cardiff ENL Devils, but went down 5-4 to rivals Romford Raiders in a tense game. Cardiff gave the Chieftains a tough start and were happy to go into the first break 1 a piece with the goal coming from Danny Hammond while Chris Jones tied it up for the Devils. The second was a difficult period and neither side really got going and Ross Brears as  the only one to score to go into the final session 2-1 ahead. A Tim Burrows goal from the Devils tied it up before a brace from Clarke and a lone marker from Alan Green put the Chieftains 5-2 up, but a late goal from Jason Stone made the score respectable for the Welsh side.

Meanwhile in Bristol the Chelmsford second side went down narrowly 5-4 to the Pitbulls, but Warriors coach Paul Wilcock can take heart from the performance. Ricky Mills took home the man of the match award for his hat-trick performance.

Onto Sunday and it was derby day for the Chieftains and the short trip down the A12 proved to be a fruitless one, despite the best efforts of hat-trick man and man of the match Tom Long. Long got 3 goals while Clarke also netted again for his 3rd of the weekend, but it wasn't to be as 2 former Chieftains came back to haunt the current side as JJ McGrath netted 2 and Anthony Leone got another with Danny Marshall and Andy Smith netting the others for the Romford Raiders.

The Warriors took on one of the prospective title contenders in Solent & Gosport Devils and although held on for long periods of the game, they eventually went down 6-3 losers at home.

These results leaves the Chieftains in third place in the league, 3 points off top spot, with only Invicta and Romford filling the top spots respectively.
