Wasps Legends secure a 'Sweet Seventeen'
Back in the day, the sight of Durham Wasps legend Mike O'Connor holding aloft a trophy to a rapturous crowd was a regular occurance, and LIH are delighted to announce that the famous Number 17 will be back on May 6th, patrolling the blue-line in blue and gold of the Wasps Legends team.
O'Connor first iced for the Wasps in the 1984/85, helping the Big Blue Machine to their first League title and captained the Wasps during their memorable 1987 Heineken Championships win at Wembley Arena. Mike was also a key player in both the Wasps' Grand Slam season and League and Championship double in 1992 before departing the Riverside Rink for Sheffield in 1994.
We are delighted to welcome Mike, who played over 280 games for the Wasps to the Durham Legends team we're sure the Wasps faithful will be looking forward to see one of the Big Blue Machine's best-known players back on the ice again.

The Wasps v Warriors Legends game is on Sunday 6th May at Whitley Bay Ice Rink, face off 5.00pm.
Tickets are available now from www.legendsicehockey.co.uk/tickets.html priced at £10.00 for adults and £5.00 for concessions (under 16's, disabled, OAP and students).
All our events will support grass roots ice hockey and local charities, along with the Ice Hockey Players Benevolent Fund.
