Mobilx Vipers forward Dean Holland relived the remarkable win in Belfast on Sunday, and told us he'd never experienced anything like it before in his hockey career.

Twenty-one year old Holland netted his third goal of the season with the Vipers' second tally on Sunday, as the nine skaters recovered from 4-0 and 5-2 down to beat Belfast 6-5 on penalty shots.

"To be honest, going into the game our main priority was to come away without further injuries.

"Then in the second period when we got our goals we relaxed and started to come more into the game.

"When Matty Kralj scored the shorthanded goal to make it 5-3 the guys really felt we could get something from the game.

"The third period was fantastic, getting the two goals early to tie the game then a goalie masterclass from Robbie.  He was awesome all night, probably the best netminding display I can remember.

"At the end when Tejchma scored then Robbie saved the last penalty, it was a fantastic feeling.  We felt like we'd wont the Stanley Cup!"

Holland and the Vipers return to action this Saturday at home to Coventry Blaze (6.30pm at Whitley Bay), and the forward says the events of Sunday will give everyone at the club a lift.

"The spirit in the squad was already good, but Sunday brought everyone closer as a team.  No-one gave up on each other.  The atmosphere on the bench was excellent, everyone was smiling and having fun.

"Now this weekend we have to kick on, we have two new guys in which is another boost, added to the feel-good from Sunday."

Tickets for Saturday's game against Coventry are on sale now from the Vipers shop in Shakespeare Street, by telephone 0191 2610909 or online at vipershockey.co.uk.

Defenceman Ryan Jorde and forward Brent Hughes are scheduled to make their debut in the Blaze game after flying in to the UK at the end of this week.
