Welch and Lefebvre join the Capitals

Edinburgh Capitals are pleased to be able to announce that they have already secured two new players, Marc Lefebvre and Dan Welch. Both players have spent time in the Elite Ice Hockey League.
Doug Christiansen is very pleased with the new signings and commented, "Dan Welch has the ability to be a premier player in this league. He has proved it before when he finished 8th in the league in scoring in 2005-2006. His trademark is his speed. He can get to loose pucks and will be a fixture on our power play and penalty kill.
"Marc Lefebvre is a player who is going to provide energy and will be a solid defensive player for us. He skates well and can play center or wing. Marc knows the league well, having played three years in the EIHL, and should step in seamlessly.
"Marc and Dan were roommates in 2005-2006 in Coventry and will be two welcomed additions to our team. The injuries we have sustained have really hurt us from the first game of the season. This addition allows us to have a stronger team immediately and the ability to play 3 lines."
Christiansen also praised the efforts of the fans and the Edinburgh Capitals Supporters Club in helping raise funds for new players. He said, "I would personally like to thank our fans, the Supporters Club, and especially Jim McCrae, for their dedication in bringing in Dan Welch. Jim's tireless efforts have paved the way for this to happen. The fans have almost raised all of the money for the the flight and work permit(just a little to go to reach the goal!). I can honestly say, without their contributions, Dan would not be a Capital.
"I am looking forward to seeing if our fans can top "Smokin Joe Appreciation Society" as a nickname! Whatever the group names themselves they are invited to meet Dan, Marc, and a few other Capitals at the Murrayfield Hotel at 6pm Wednesday 25th of November. Come down and meet the new players."
