Wightlink sign Rounding from Bracknell
The Wightlink Raiders can today confirm the signing of 20 year old forward Grant Rounding for the new season.
South African born Grant, who spent last season on a two way between Bracknell’s EPL and ENL teams,has played in Berkshire all his life and will join up with his new teammates for the 2011-2012 season which starts in September.
His season last year was abruptly ended by injury but prior to that he’d scored 15 goals with 14 assists from 27 games for the ENL Hornets while also appearing 20 times for the Bracknell Bees in the ENL.
Player coach Jeremy Cornish says Grant will have a big part to play this season.
“We're pretty excited to have Grant on board, he's another young forward who will be looking to make a impact on the Island this season. Grant has spent his whole career in Bracknell so far and is very excited about his change in scenery and getting started with us.”
Grant’s signing means there are only 5 more places to be confirmed for Jeremy Cornish’s team for 2011-2012 and we expect to be announcing the remainder of the squad in the next week or so.
