Zajac looking for hurrah over rivals

Newcastle Vipers defenceman Sam Zajac has been one of the surprise packages of the 2010/11 Elite League season. The 21-year-old British defenceman was signed from the EPL’s Basingstoke Bison and his all action style has made him a firm fan favourite with the Vipers faithful.
With the last two games of the season this weekend against the Dundee Stars at home on Saturday (7.00pm) and in Dundee on Sunday (6.30pm), Zajac is looking to go out in style.
“The games so far this season between ourselves and Dundee have all been tight and competitive” said Zajac. “The two teams have some of the most vocal fans in the league and were hoping for a great atmosphere and hopefully two big performances to finish the season off in style.
“It’s no secret it’s been a tough season for Newcastle and all of the boys want to finish the year on a high note, and with all the uncertainty over the future of the club we know that good results can only help to encourage any potential investors that might be out there.
“All of the fans have been superb and I would like the thank them for sticking with us when it would of been so much easier to walk away, without them we wouldn’t be here and the motivation for this weekend is to put on a show for them and go all out to get the four points.”
