I’ll open with this — the Financial Times hasn’t made it into the Team of the Week…
The Elite League’s fourth gameweek of the season was punctuated by unexpected and misinformed mainstream coverage — but the players and fans continue to shine.
With that said, let’s dive straight into our Round Four selections.
Kevin Carr, Nottingham Panthers:

Take a bow, Kevin Carr.
The 35-year-old produced a commanding 48-save shutout, backstopping the Nottingham Panthers to a 5-0 win over the Cardiff Devils on Sunday.
Carr stopped seven high-danger scoring chances and denied 3.61 goals above expectations (GSAxG).
The American appeared in relief of Jason Grande a night earlier, making seven saves on eight shots in an ugly loss to the Manchester Storm.
Colton Saucerman, Coventry Blaze:

Colton Saucerman continues to roll back the years as a member of the Coventry Blaze.
The 33-year-old blueliner was at his puck-moving best in Coventry’s 6-5 win over the Cardiff on Saturday, scoring once and providing two assists from the back-end.
But those offensive outputs barely scratch the surface of his impact on the game.
Saucerman recorded a team-high thirty minutes of ice time, playing in all situations as the Blaze fought back from a 3-0 deficit to take down Cardiff.
The American put up another assist on Sunday, lifting Coventry to a 2-1 overtime win over the Guildford Flames while logging another eye-watering 32-minute shift.
The Blaze are playing short-benched — and Saucerman is rising to the challenge.
Brendon Clavelle, Manchester Storm:
Brendon Clavelle has arrived.
The 26-year-old joined the Storm out of USports and was held pointless through his first month as a professional.
But he made the fourth gameweek of the season his stage, providing a pair of primary assists in Manchester’s 6-3 win over the Nottingham Panthers on Saturday.
Playing on the Storm’s third pair alongside Zach Sullivan, Clavelle is quietly building a name for himself.
Brady Gilmour, Manchester Storm:
Brady Gilmour has been Manchester’s standout player to start the season.
The Canadian started round four with a brace, including the game’s opening goal, in Manchester’s 6-3 win over Nottingham on Saturday.
Unsatisfied with his output for the weekend, he added another two goals to his tally on Sunday, propelling the Storm to a 6-1 win over the Fife Flyers.
Evan Jasper, Sheffield Steelers:
Evan Jasper retains his place in the Team of the Weeks thanks to his exemplary performance against the Dundee Stars on Saturday.
He posted four points (one goal, three assists) in just over 16 minutes of ice time.
Aaron Fox’s third line stays hot.
Deven Sideroff, Glasgow Clan:
Deven Sideroff has picked up where he left off last season.
And his performances in gameweek four are yet another demonstration of his importance to the Glasgow Clan.
The Canadian tallied four points this weekend: a primary assist in a heavy loss to the Guildford Flames, plus a goal and another assist in a 3-2 win over the high-flying Sheffield Steelers.
Sideroff is a force to be reckoned with from the flank — and remains on to watch this year.
