The Cardiff Devils enter the playoffs full of confidence, having won seven of their final eight regular-season contests.

Crucial to the Devils’ recent uptick: netminder Christian Stoever.

The Canadian closed out the campaign with back-to-back wins, taking his record on the season to 17-6-0.

Stoever kept a 23-save shutout to down the Sheffield Steelers on Wednesday [1 April], before making 22 stops on 23 shots in a 4-1 win over the Nottingham Panthers on the final day.

Finishing the season with a .916 save percentage, the 25-year-old could be a major player in the playoffs.

Josh Roach, Belfast Giants:

Josh Roach played twice in Gameweek 30, recording two assists and checking out with a plus-four rating.

With injuries limiting the Canadian to only 17 appearances on the season, Roach’s return to form provides the Giants with a welcomed boost heading into the playoffs.

Charlie Curti, Guildford Flames:

Charlie Curti is one of the Elite League’s most underrated defencemen.

The American posted 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) in 39 regular-season and enters the quarter-finals riding a four-game point streak.

Curti was a standout performer as the Flames finished the campaign with five consecutive wins, tallying assists in each of Guildford’s Round 30 contests.

Tyler Preziuso, Guildford Flames:

Tyler Preziuso is a solid depth piece for the Flames.

But his performances on the final weekend of the season warrant further attention.

The 27-year-old scored the opening goal in Guildford’s 2-1 win over the Manchester Storm and tallied a secondary assist in the Flames’ 6-2 stomping of Belfast.

Burning bright heading into the playoffs, Preziuso is an under-the-radar player to watch.

Kristoff Kontos, Cardiff Devils:

Kristoff Kontos is a point-per-game player.

The Canadian ran rampant in the final weeks of the season to checkout with 53 points (17 goals, 36 assists) in 52 games, including a goal and an assist in Gameweek 30.

Logan Neilson, Fife Flyers:

Logan Neilson justified his midseason transfer saga by scoring 18 points (ten goals, 8 assists) in 37 appearances for the Fife Flyers.

The 23-year-old’s breakout form sends him to the IIHF World Championship with renewed confidence and a case study for why he deserves more ice time at club level.

After his switch from the Steelers, Neilson’s average deployment jumped from 4:50 t0 18:11, albeit a trend significantly impacted by organisational issues in Fife.

In any case, Neilson snags a Team of the Week spot thanks to his game-winning brace against the Dundee Stars.
