Coventry Blaze Head Coach Danny Stewart has confirmed a change to his 2016/17 Elite League roster.

Canadian forward Taylor Carnevale has signed for the club, while Darcy Zajac has been released after just 12 games.

Carnevale spent last season in Germany’s DEL2 where he had a standout year with EC Kassel Huskies, scoring 15 goals with 30 assists in 34 games to help the club lift the DEL2 Championship.

The 25-year-old has previously played Italy’s Asiago, HC Bolzano in Austria and German outfit EC Bad Nauheim.

Stewart said: “Taylor will bring us some creativeness up the middle. He can score goals and distribute as well.

“He will bring some much needed poise on the puck, something we are maybe lacking right now.

“We thank Darcy, he was a true professional and teammate during his time here and we wish him the best.”
