Ben O’Connor is top of the British players points scoring charts after an excellent start to the campaign with Sheffield Steelers.

O’Connor scored twice against Braehead Clan last weekend to double his goals tally for the season.

With six assists to his name the 27-year-old’s 10 point total puts him four ahead of Robert Farmer.

A goal and three assists in Saturday’s 8-5 victory over Manchester Storm took the Nottingham Panthers forward to six points and second place in the standings.

Farmer’s teammate David Clarke, Braehead’s Craig Peacock and Manchester’s Jack Prince round off the top five with five points apiece.

Clarke’s total includes goals against Dundee Stars (2), Cardiff Devils and Sheffield, while Peacock has been on target against Fife Flyers and Sheffield.

A host of players have three points, including Paul Swindlehurst (Manchester), Ashley Tait (Coventry Blaze) and Mark Garside (Belfast Giants).
