
Belfast Giants’ forward Colin Shields has closed the gap on Ben O’Connor at the top of the British players points standings after another productive month in the Elite League.
Shields scored five goals with three assists and now trails the Sheffield Steelers defender by four points.
O’Connor’s teammate Robert Dowd is in third place, just a point behind Shields, while Robert Farmer (Nottingham Panthers) and Mark Richardson (Cardiff Devils) complete the top five.
Manchester Storm forward Jack Prince bagged another six points to stay in sixth place, with Craig Peacock (Braehead Clan), Matthew Myers (Cardiff) and Robert Lachowicz (Nottingham) filling the next three positions.
Ross Venus (Coventry Blaze), Matt Towe (Belfast) and Steve Lee (Nottingham) round off the top ten with 18 points apiece.
