Braehead Clan defender Cody Carlson is eagerly anticipating the visit of Elite League title challengers Belfast Giants to Glasgow on Saturday.

Derrick Walser’s in-form team will face the Clan on the back of road wins over Sheffield Steelers and Cardiff Devils, but Carlson believes his team can spring a surprise.

“I think for us keeping to the systems and sticking to what we know that works – Belfast are a great team and a great test for us to find out where we are right now,” said Carlson.

“I don’t think Belfast have seen us at our best and if we stick to the systems, I think we’re going to have a good showing against them.

“It’s different scenarios for every game and we see this as a chance to prove ourselves against Belfast and they’re the hottest team in the league.

“They have a good all-round team with skilled guys and good defenders, plus they do a lot of the little things right which is why they’ve been successful so far.”
