MK Lightning have confirmed British forward Bobby Chamberlain has agreed a further two seasons with the EPL club.

Chamberlain joined Lightning last summer from Manchester Phoenix and has scored 18 goals and 25 assists in 53 league games.

He said: “I’ve enjoyed my time here and since day one, everybody in the team made me more than welcome from the start.

“I can’t say enough great things about the organisation on how it treats its players – and how amazing the fans are.

“I was taken aback after returning back from Coventry to see them singing in our stands. It was unbelievable, they have so much passion for the club and it makes it such an easy choice to return.”

Pete Russell, Lightning’s Head Coach and Director of Hockey, commented: “I’m delighted Bobby has chosen to continue his development here in MK for the next two seasons.

“He has a good skill set, good strength and battles hard. He’s played a lot of minutes this season and is only still 21 years old.

“Bobby is a key part of our group – in the dressing room he is a big player, the guys love him.

“Over the last eight months he’s worked on his game both on and off the ice. He’s very driven to reach his full potential and we’ll do all we can to help him achieve his goals.

“I know there is more to come from Bobby and am delighted he’s agreed to stay.”
