British ‘D’ man Lewis Christie has agreed his ninth season with MK Lightning.

Christie brings a wealth of experience to the Lightning roster, having iced in over 400 EPL games during his time with the club.

He said: “This year I really think will be the best one yet. We’re going to have a great team and I genuinely believe this is our year to bring home silverware.

“The fans are amazing and it’ll be nothing less than they deserve. I’m really happy to be back for another season.”

Head Coach Pete Russell added: “Every team needs a player like Lewey on it and he is another important piece of the jigsaw for us.

“He works hard in every situation, on and off the ice. His work ethic is terrific, and sets the tone for others.

“Lewey is a stay at home defenseman who will do what ever it takes to defend his net. He battles hard in the tough areas and plays with huge heart and passion.

“He’s highly respected by all the staff and his teammates. He had a solid year last year, but I know he is even more determined to take his game to an even higher level this year and we will do all we can to help him achieve his goals.

“It was a no-brainer to get him tied up and have him back in the line-up again. I’m delighted and excited to work with him again.”
