Jordan Cownie, Richard Hartmann, Duncan Speirs and Stuart Kerr will all be in the Braehead Clan line-up for Thursday’s Elite League game against the Edinburgh Capitals.

With Matt Keith, Scott Pitt and Matt Haywood out with injury, Ben Davies away with Team GB and Nathan McIver suspended, Clan have moved swiftly to bring in reinforcements.

British forward Cownie (above) has been called back from his loan with the EPL’s MK Lightning, just for Thursday’s game, while forward Speirs and defenseman Kerr have been called up from the NIHL’s Solway Sharks as part of the club’s two-way partnership.

Clan Assistant Coach Richard Hartmann will also face his former club, having spent the previous four seasons with Edinburgh as Player/Coach.

Hartmann was signed as an emergency spare import and Thursday will be the first time the 40-year-old has had to lace up since departing the Capitals.

Clan Hockey & Operations Director Gareth Chalmers commented: “I’d like to thank MK Lightning, Pete Russell, Solway Sharks and Martin Grubb for giving clearance for Jordan, Duncan and Stuart to ice with us against Edinburgh.

“With the key players that we’ll have missing, it was imperative we got some bodies into the line-up.

“It will also allow us to see how Jordan has developed down in Milton Keynes, while providing Duncan and Stuart with the experience of EIHL hockey.”
