Riley Stadel’s hat-trick and overtime winner saw the Dundee Stars take a massive road win as they defeated Coventry Blaze 3-2 in the Skydome.
Blaze got themselves on the scoresheet early as Garrett Ladd put the home side in front after only a couple of minutes to set the tone.
It took Omar Pacha’s side until the back end of the second period to respond as Stadel got his first with a one-time shot in a powerplay move.
Coventry responded to restore their lead as Ross Venus added their second to put themselves in pole position early in the third.
The Stars hit back a couple of minutes later with Stadel levelling again, finishing off a great move to restore parity.
But the game needed the overtime period to settle things and it was Stadel once again to secure a much-needed win as this double header moves to Dundee on Sunday.
