Coventry Blaze completed a four-point weekend as they followed up Saturday’s shutout win over Manchester Storm with a 4-1 success over Braehead Clan.

Danny Stewart’s men got themselves back on track with an excellent home win to leave the Glasgow side without a point in their first league games.

Luke Ferrara got the first goal on the board after he was set up by Dax Lauwers and the Blaze were up and running.

They added a second on a five-on-three powerplay as Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored as Coventry took advantage of the two extra skaters.

Braehead pulled one back inside the first four minutes of the second period as Adam Brace got his name on the list, assisted by Christoffer Bjorklund.

But their hopes of pegging back the deficit were lost as Blaze captain Jordan Pietrus scored their third on the powerplay to open up a two-goal lead.

Braehead’s Jacob Doty was ejected from the game, given a five plus game penalty for spearing by the referee.

But Ryan Dingle turned the lights off for John Tripp’s men with a goal five minutes from time to make it maximum points from the weekend.
