Braehead Clan forward Corey Cowick wants the team to rediscover their physical side when they host Dundee Stars in the Elite League on Saturday.

After a below par performance against Cardiff Devils last Wednesday, Cowick wants to a return to the style employed in recent games.

He said: “I think realistically we got what we deserved from the game on Wednesday. It wasn’t our best game and they came out and played well.

“When we’re playing with that intensity and everyone’s in the game, then that’s when we’re at our best. Sometimes it’s tough to have that in every game though.

“When you come off an emotional weekend against your biggest rivals, knocking them out of the cup, sometimes it’s hard to mimic that.

“But we have to do it against Dundee because that’s when we’re most successful, so we’re looking to get back to that.

“If you want to win the league, winning the Conference is key and our aim is to go in and take the points off the teams we’re battling with in our section.

“We have the personnel in this locker room to win the league. If you want to be the best in the league, you have to be the best in the Conference and that’s where our heads are.

“After the start we had we want to get better in every game and we’ve made big strides in recent weeks.

“Any time we’re at home, I think we have the edge. The fans get us into the game, especially when we come out in a physical way, the atmosphere gets really loud so we want to do that again.”
