Cardiff Devils will retire former captain Brad Voth’s number 26 shirt at Saturday’s home game against Edinburgh Capitals.

Voth played over 350 games for the Devils in all competitions, helping the club win the Elite Challenge Cup in 2006 and 2007.

The current Devils players will wear special warm-up jerseys with ‘Voth 26’ on the back, which will be raffled off during the evening.

In addition to taking part in a post-game signing session for fans, Voth will remain in Wales to participate in Tuesday’s ‘The Matchka’.

The event is being held in aid of his former teammate Scott Matzka, who has been raising awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) after being diagnosed with the condition last year.
