Dundee Stars 4 Glasgow’s Braehead Clan 1

Clan, British Ice Hockey

Glasgow’s Braehead Clan suffered disappointment on the road as Dundee Stars took two Gardiner Conference points with a 4-1 over John Tripp’s side.

After both teams took victory in their respective games last night, they were eager to end their weekend with four points to show for their efforts.

While it was an even first period, the home side were first on the board as Lukas Lundwald Neilsen scored at the 14-minute mark with an unassisted one.

Stars doubled their lead early in the second when Brian Hart came in from the left hand side and delivered a finish to put the hosts 2-0 up.

Landon Oslanski and Malcolm Gould dropped the gloves not long after as the crowd got on their feet as things got a little heated.

But Clan got one back midway through the middle period when a shot from point took a rebound, with Bari McKenzie on hand to sweep up the finish.

Dundee were ahead by 3-1 early in the third period as a turnover allowed Emerson Hyrnyk to burst into the Clan zone and finish past Nie.

Craig Peacock had a chance not long after as he tried to bury it low under Fullerton, but the Stars’ goalie read it well.

Despite Braehead’s best efforts, the Stars killed them off with an empty goal in the final stages as Neilsen bookended the goals with a tap-in to confirm victory for Omar Pacha’s side.
