Fife Flyers have added Kyle Follmer to their squad for the 2016/17 Elite League season.

Follmer has spent the last three years in the ECHL with Bakersfield Condors, Allen Americans and Quad City Mallards.

Flyers’ boss Todd Dutiaume said: “We are going with five import ‘D’ this year, so I was looking to find a versatile player – a guy who was conformable and capable of playing up front when required and Kyle fits that bill.

“He comes to us primarily as a ‘D’ man, but will be used up front as well. I think it’s important to have a player or two who is versatile and who can play in all situations.

“Having players who can adapt their style of play and change positions will make us stronger. I like to know that I have guys who can move around the line-up to help us out, if and when required.”

Follmer added: “I’m super excited to join the Fife Flyers. Hopefully I can come in and help the team win some silverware – I just want to win hockey games.

“I’m excited to get over to Scotland and get the new season underway.”
