Fife Flyers’ boss Todd Dutiaume says he won’t be rushed into naming the club’s new Assistant Coach following Danny Stewart’s departure from Kirkcaldy last month.

Stewart took over the role midway through Flyers’ first year in the Elite League until his retirement from playing professional ice hockey at the end of last season.

“There are a number of potential candidates for the position and it’s something we are going to take our time on to be certain the right decision is made,” said Dutiaume.

“The person will have to hold the skill and mental mindset required, as well as hold a similar set of values that are at the centre of this club. It will include a playing role which will be the individual’s primary focus.

“It looks as if it will be a busy summer of recruitment but with Dings (Ryan Dingle), Stocks (Shayne Stockton) and Philly (Philippe Paquet) secured and announced I believe it shows we’re committed to building a strong team with intentions of big improvements and the ability to bring the success to Fife that we all crave and have worked so hard for.”
