Manchester Storm enjoyed an excellent start to their Elite League campaign with a 2-1 victory at Braehead Clan.

Matt Keith gave Clan the lead, but Darian Dziurzynski scored twice to secure the points for Storm.

The Altrincham-based club followed up with a 3-1 Challenge Cup win at home to Coventry Blaze.

Nottingham Panthers won 2-0 at home to Cardiff Devils – Chris Lawrence and David Clarke got the goals.

The Devils bounced back with a 6-1 home victory against Fife Flyers.

Sheffield Steelers recorded two cup successes, winning 4-3 at Coventry Blaze and 7-5 at home to the Panthers.

Belfast Giants also picked up four points in the cup courtesy of a 3-1 home win against Edinburgh Capitals and a 5-3 victory at Dundee Stars.

Pavel Vorobyev scored the overtime decider for the Capitals in their 3-2 cup win at home to the Clan, while Cale Tanaka (2) topped the scoring for the Stars in their 6-3 road success against the Flyers.
