Coventry Blaze stunned Nottingham Panthers with four goals in 10 minutes to seal a 6-5 victory in their opening pre-season fixture.

The Panthers, boosted by a Robert Farmer hat-trick, looked in total control when they went 5-2 up with less than 18 minutes remaining.

However, goals from Robin Bergman, Matt Marquardt, Bjorn Bombis and Jordan Pietrus capped a remarkable turnaround for the home side.

Marquardt and Bombis scored Blaze’s other goals, while Andy Sertich and Geoff Waugh were also on target for the Panthers.

Blaze are back in action on Sunday when they host Netherlands outfit Tilburg Trappers.

The Panthers take on teams from France, Germany and Canada when they feature in the Napoleon Cup in Amiens this weekend.
