Elite League round-up: Clan caught in a Storm

Manchester Storm delivered a big blow to Braehead Clan’s Elite League title hopes after securing two victories from their weekend double-header.

Mathew Sisca, Luke Salazar, Omar Pacha and Ricards Birzinsh were on target in Storm’s 4-1 success on home ice, while Salazar and ex-Clan forward Derek Roehl got the goals in their 2-1 road win.

Brenden Walker (2) topped the scoring for Coventry in their 6-5 win at home to Fife, but Blaze couldn’t follow up in the reverse fixture as the Flyers roared to a 4-0 victory – Shayne Stockton, Justin Fox, Ryan Dingle and Kyle Haines were on the scoresheet.

Dundee Stars triumphed 4-1 at home to Edinburgh Capitals – Doug Clarkson, Riley Wetmore, Bobby Chaumont and Lou Dickenson were the scorers.

They made it a four-point weekend after winning by the same scoreline in the return game – John Dolan, Curtis Leinweber, Scott Brannon and Mikael Lidhammar were Stars’ marksmen.
