Cardiff Devils had their eight-game winning running halted in spectacular fashion by Nottingham Panthers on Saturday, but bounced back with a hard-fought shoot-out success against Sheffield Steelers the following day.

Colin Shields and Michael Forney got on the scoresheet in Belfast’s 2-1 home success against the Steelers, while Chris Higgins and Matt Nickerson made it a four-point weekend with the goals in a 2-1 victory at Manchester Storm.

Scott Pitt (2) and Matt Keith were on target for Braehead in their 3-2 win at home to Edinburgh Capitals and Clan followed up with a 4-3 success at Dundee Stars – Alex Leavitt (2) topped the scoring.

Coventry Blaze triumphed 4-1 on home ice against Dundee, but they failed to add a second victory at Nottingham as the hosts came from 5-3 down to seal a 6-5 victory after a shoot-out.
