
Cardiff Devils are closing in on their first Elite League title after picking up a pair of victories over the weekend.
Layne Ulmer and Andrew Lord (above) both scored twice in the Devils’ 8-0 home win against Coventry Blaze, while Joey Haddad’s overtime strike secured a 3-2 success at Edinburgh Capitals.
Belfast Giants are back up to second in the table after recording a four point weekend.
Steve Saviano (4) led the way in their 7-2 win at home to Fife Flyers and the Giants followed up with a 4-3 victory at Nottingham Panthers.
Jonathan Phillips scored twice for Sheffield in their 4-2 home win against Nottingham, but the Steelers title hopes suffered a blow as they crashed 6-3 at Fife – Matt Sisca (2) topped the scoring for the Flyers.
Braehead Clan claimed the Gardiner Conference title after a 4-1 success at home to Dundee Stars – Cody Carlson, Matt Beca, Mike Hammond and Alex Leavitt got the goals.
Manchester Storm had a miserable weekend, losing 5-2 at home to Edinburgh and 3-2 after a shoot-out at Coventry.
