Sheffield Steelers continued their pursuit of Elite League leaders Cardiff Devils with a pair of victories over Nottingham Panthers.

The Steelers won 5-4 at Nottingham and followed up with a 6-1 success on home ice. The results leave Paul Thompson’s team eleven points behind the Devils with five games in hand.

Layne Ulmer (2) topped the scoring for Cardiff as they recorded a 6-2 home victory over Edinburgh Capitals.

Belfast Giants lost 3-2 after overtime at Fife Flyers, but they bounced back to win 6-3 at Edinburgh with Blair Riley grabbing a hat-trick.

Vinny Scarsella (2) and Justin Faryna (2) led the way for Dundee Stars in their 6-4 victory at Braehead, but the Clan hit back in the reverse fixture with a 6-3 success – Alex Leavitt and Scott Pitt both weighed in with a couple of goals.

Coventry Blaze enjoyed a four-point weekend against Manchester Storm, winning 2-0 on the road and 6-2 at the Sky Dome.
